Access of women who use drugs to harm reduction services in Eastern Europe

This report outlines what is currently known about the population of women who use drugs in the six focus countries as well as the harm reduction services that are available to them. Furthermore, this report develops recommendations based on this data and on a thorough review of the social, political, and economic factors that shape the risks and barriers faced by women who inject drugs. These recommendations identify key next steps to be taken on the local, national, and international levels to build a truly efficacious response to the needs of women who inject drugs, the population suffering the greatest HIV burden in this region
