EHRN is a membership-based organization governed by Network members, including individuals and organizations. Network members delegate the right to govern the Network to representatives of their geographic regions or communities through electing them to the Steering committee (SC). On behalf of Network members, elected SC representatives orient EHRN toward achieving goals in the framework of its mission. The EHRN Secretariat, as the executive body, ensures conditions for implementation of the strategic plan under the guidance of and in partnership with SC. In May 2011, the SC initiated a survey among its members which was related to EHRN governance and the SC role in it. This report is a step on the way of increasing the effectiveness of governance of a network organization, which is an important aspect of development of each organization based on openness and democratic governance.
